Summer season comes with the treat of mangoes. Mango is not only the yummiest fruit but it also has a blast of nutrients in it. Mango is free from fat, cholesterol and sodium. Even if you are on diet, you can satisfy your sweet cravings by eating this heavenly fruit. Because it is rich vitamin c, it is very helpful in boosting your immune system. It is also a good source of fiber, iron, vitamin A and vitamin B6. No doubt it is a super fruit from all respects. I am sharing with you a very easy, simple and healthy mango smoothie recipe.

Smoothie is simply the puree of any fruit or vegetable which is diluted with some liquid medium. The liquid can be milk, yogurt or simply water. While making this smoothie I was trying my level best to make it healthier without compromising on taste. I am a person who always loves to make variations in recipes and never hesitate to replace ingredients according to my choice. In this recipe also I tried to use healthier versions of some ingredients.

This is actually banana mango smoothie. It is best for growing kids. Especially children who trouble a lot in eating food, it is a quick way to fulfill their nutritional requirement and give them instant energy. This smoothie is also helpful for the people who are on diet and striving for weight loss. It is a very refreshing drink to enjoy in summer with your friends and family.

Mango Smoothie Ingredients:

  • Mango: Mango is the obvious thing to add in mango smoothie. Use fully ripped mangoes in order to give perfect taste to your smoothie.
  •  Yogurt: yogurt goes very well with smoothies. Creamy yogurt gives a rich smooth texture to your smoothie. If you are diet conscious you can also use low fat yogurt.
  • Honey: I am using honey as sweetener in this smoothie. You can also use sugar or any other sweetener.
  • Milk: A little bit of milk is used to dilute the smoothie. But it’s totally  on your choice. If you like thick smoothie, you can skip milk.
  • Chia seeds: Chia seeds are rich in antioxidants, fiber and protein. They are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. They help in weight loss also. Just soak them in water and pour them on your smoothie.
  • Frozen bananas: Banana is also a healthy fruit to add. It also gives a creamy texture to your smoothie. Just cut the bananas in pieces and freeze them.

Serving tips:

  • Always serve your smoothie chilled.
  • It is suggested to add ice while blending the smoothie.
  •  Adding a wooden stick in glass while serving smoothie helps stirring and mixing your drink while drinking.

Equipment

  • Knife to cut
  • A blender
  • Some serving glass and straws

Ingredients

  • 2 Medium size Mangoes Fully ripe
  • 2 Large Frozen bananas Fully ripe
  • 500 gm Yogurt Low fat
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4-5 tbsp Honey You can add according to your taste
  • 4 tbsp Chia seeds Already soaked in water
  • 5-6 cubes Ice

Instructions

  • Cut the mangoes into pieces.
  • soak chia seeds in water. Get all the ingredients ready .
  • Add all the ingredients except chia seeds in the blender.
  • Blend them altogether and pour in glass.
  • Add soaked chia seeds on the top of each glass and serve.
