Ramadan is a month of celebrations. It is a month of giving, helping, and spreading love. Although these things should be practiced whole year and whole life but Muslims especially make special arrangements for these in this month. One beautiful thing which I love doing during Ramadan is making food for iftar and send it to others for braking their fast. I remember in my childhood how much I used to enjoy making different thing for iftar and sending to my cousin’s home who lived in my neighbors. She also used to do the same. Making iftar platter is very satisfying and relaxing.

I know every muslim does this in his own way but I just want to share my style of making iftar platter which you can send to your love ones and spread love. I tried to make my platter simple, basic, and traditional. I have included three varieties of snacks, fresh fruits, dates, and a drink (which is very important to include in summer). This platter is made for one person, but you can increase quantity of these things according to your requirement. You can also make these things when you invite guests for iftar at your home. You can share your iftar platter ideas with me in comments.

Iftar platter

Things I included in iftar platter

Dates: Dates are most important to include in your platter as it is the sunnah of our Holy Prophet (SAW) to break our fast with dates. I have also included dates and to make them a little fancy I filled cream and top them with crushed almonds.

Fresh mint lime: Another important thing to include is some refreshing drink. Fresh mint lime gives you instant boost of energy and hydrates you body. I have not included extra sweetener and ice because it is not good to have a very sweet and chilled drink empty stomach.

Fresh fruits: Fresh fruits also recover your weakness instantly. It is necessary to incorporate them in your iftar. I have included chunks of water melon and melon. You can include other seasonal fruits as well or you can also make fruit chaat.

Samosa: it is one of the traditional things of iftar where we fill wrap made of flour with a mix of potatoes and spices.it is then deep fried until crispy. This delicious sneak is liked by everyone so I also added it in my platter.

Spring rolls: It is another kind of sneak which is very popular in Pakistan. Here we mix different kind of vegetables with chicken and spices and fill them in a wrap made of flour. I love this sneak and consider it worthy to have a place in my iftar platter.

Bhel puri: One of my favorite spicy and savory chaat is bhel puri. It is very famous in India and Pakistan. Just mix boiled potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and chaat masala and top with crispy nimko of your choice. It is present in most people’s iftar menu. I also added a bowl of this chaat in my platter.
